I am Roman De Giuli, 39 years old and I am currently living in Nuremberg with my wife and my two children Moritz & Mateo.
Since my youth I am driven by creativity, arts and media. At the age of 16 I got my first digital audio sampler and an Atari. With 8 mono sound banks, my father's record collection and some percussion instruments, I started exploring the world of sampling and editing. And it didn't take long until I started composing sound and visual media.
Now it’s 2017. Times have changed but the pleasure and impulse are still the same. I am in videography, photography and sound design, both freelancing and employed. And I am still hungry to go the extra mile.
It's not an effort, it's my self-conception.

Interviews, documentaries, visual arts, photography & stock footage. Over 30 productions since 2011, mostly scientific journalism and short docs. Exhibitions and sales in photography as well as several orders for organic macro stock footage. I gained international experience at the Expo Shanghai in 2010 and came back to China in 2013 for a documentary filming expedition.
From 2010-2012 I conducted the renewal of the institute's production studios, editing suites and technical gear. Later, I exclusively focused on teaching. Since then I hold over 50 courses & workshops in A/V-production and led several collaborations and productions. Also, I am instructing our apprentice for digital media design (IHK).
I was an engineer for the tapeless workflow turnaround project in cooperation with CBC Cologne. The job covered ingesting media and developing different workflows for server based TV production with a special focus on user interface design and troubleshooting. At the same time I worked at the production direction unit where I finally stayed in full time until the end of 2009.
2008 - 2009
After my apprentice, I continued working at the SWR for another 2 years. My main field of work was audio and studio engineering, mostly voice over and mixing for a variety of formats from station ID’s and trailers to longer documentaries for ARD and ARTE. I was also working in the live studios on a regular basis.
